Goodwell is a social investment company that aims to contribute to poverty alleviation and sustainable development by developing and implementing instruments that create social and financial value.

In order to improve access to affordable financial services for millions of people in the 'Base of the Pyramid’, Goodwell started with a microfinance development company focused on India. This first microfinance fund was launched in 2006 and invested in seven local microfinance organizations in India, which serve over 5 million families with a loan portfolio of over USD 1 billion. The second microfinance development company, which was built on the success of the first one, was launched in 2009 and invests both in India and West Africa.

To realize its mission, Goodwell is also active in supporting business solutions in the area of water and sanitation, and renewable energy.
